The Foster Museum’s Collection

The Foster Museum’s permanent collection contains four complete Tony Foster Journeys, which consist of watercolor paintings, souvenirs, and journal excerpts.  The permanent collection also includes individual watercolor artworks and prints by Tony Foster, as well as archival materials and objects related to Tony Foster’s work and travels, such as photographs, maps, artists’ materials, and outdoor gear.  Additionally, The Foster Museum conducts and archives oral history interviews with Tony Foster, his traveling companions, and his colleagues to document and contextualize his Journeys and artworks.

The Foster Museum actively collects Tony Foster’s art and archival materials.  Please reach out to Artistic Director Kristin Poole (artisticdirector@thefoster.org) for information about donations to the collection and acquisitions.
